Welcome to the Colwell Thundering Herd Ranch website.The Thundering Herd Ranch, nestled in Penryn in the Foothills of Placer County California, grows mandarin oranges, lemons, naval oranges and limes in a region known for producing some of the finest citrus fruit in the world. Persimmons, apples, plums and kumquats are also grown in our orchard.

The sweet, sun ripened mandarins and lemons from our small family farm are crushed with fresh mission olives to create gourmet extra virgin olive oils of the highest quality. The mandarin and lemon olive oils are 100% natural, cold pressed and unfiltered and combine the rich and authentic flavor of fresh citrus with the smooth and enticing taste of mild mission olives.  Our balsamic vinegar, imported from Modena, Italy, is aged for up to 18 years and provides a sweet, flavorful partner to our citrus crushed oils. These products are available year round.

During the fall harvest season freshly picked mandarins, lemons, and persimmons are offered for sale both at the ranch and at our web site.

Gourmet dessert sauces - Orange Chocolate Liqueur and Cabernet Wine Chocolate - are also produced and available for sale on a year round basis.
